They Call Her Blessed!

Enjoy the e-gallery of Betty Slade and her paintings of the "Women of the Wind Series". This collection of paintings are the impressionist Southwest women seen through the eyes of Proverbs. Also there will be added southwest landscapes and adobes.

Dedicated to My Son Stephen,
A Leader of men, a server of tables, and full of the Holy Spirit. My charge to you is that you lead with wisdom, serve with kindness and walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Then you will complete your name, Stephenos, a crowning glory.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother -- for they will be an ornament of grace on your head, and chains about your neck.

Proverbs 1:8,9

Many of the Proverbs and Wisdom have been written in the female voice. This is wisdom that King Solomon acquired sitting at the feet of his mother. Her endearing name for him was King Lemuel, and the utterance which his mother taught him is found in the Proverbs thirty-one Woman.

Lemuel means devoted to God. So is this group of paintings with words from the King and defined in the heart of the artist, Betty Slade

He concludes his proverbs with the portrait of the Proverbs thirty-one Woman. He recognizes the attributes of a godly woman; her beauty can not be compared but excels beyond the many daughters who have done well, and her husband and her children will call her blessed.

Rain in the Desert

I Wisdom, will show you how to preserve your name in righteousness. The name of the wicked will rot along with his dead body. A prating fool will fall, but he who walks with integrity walks securely. Be secure, follow wisdom.

Rain in the Desert
Gallery Tour: Another palette knife painting. The rain from heaven brings life to the painting and opens up heaven, but the barren desert remains. It is the nature of the desert to remain as a desert. The golden tip on the smoke tree brings the contrast, between cold and warm, light and dark.

Re-Stringing Pearls of Wisdom: Water in the desert will burn up, just like the treasurers of the wicked. It will come for a moment, even a good name will come for a moment but will rot after the truth is revealed. The desert will always be barren even when the dew form heaven falls on it. A prating fool will always be a fool, even when dew falls upon his lips for a moment.

Words Solomon learned at his Mother's knee
Proverbs 10:6-12 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed. but the name of the wicked will rot. The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall. He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known. He who winks with the eye causes trouble, but a prating fool will fall. The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
