They Call Her Blessed!

Enjoy the e-gallery of Betty Slade and her paintings of the "Women of the Wind Series". This collection of paintings are the impressionist Southwest women seen through the eyes of Proverbs. Also there will be added southwest landscapes and adobes.

Dedicated to My Son Stephen,
A Leader of men, a server of tables, and full of the Holy Spirit. My charge to you is that you lead with wisdom, serve with kindness and walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Then you will complete your name, Stephenos, a crowning glory.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother -- for they will be an ornament of grace on your head, and chains about your neck.

Proverbs 1:8,9

Many of the Proverbs and Wisdom have been written in the female voice. This is wisdom that King Solomon acquired sitting at the feet of his mother. Her endearing name for him was King Lemuel, and the utterance which his mother taught him is found in the Proverbs thirty-one Woman.

Lemuel means devoted to God. So is this group of paintings with words from the King and defined in the heart of the artist, Betty Slade

He concludes his proverbs with the portrait of the Proverbs thirty-one Woman. He recognizes the attributes of a godly woman; her beauty can not be compared but excels beyond the many daughters who have done well, and her husband and her children will call her blessed.

Hope

I Wisdom come to you in hope. Seek me as if you were seeking silver and searching for hidden treasures.
I will be found of you. Pursue me as one who loves you; as a young man courts the young girl he desires.  Treat hope in the way as if you have found a great treasure. Hid it deep within your heart, it will navigate you when all is lost. It is the door to faith.

I give you hope,

Hope - Watercolor full sheet

Gallery Tour: I am Wisdom, I am your Tour Guide: You are looking at "Hope". This watercolor was painted for the Western Bank in Albuquerque for a Christmas card. It was painted with vertical strokes of light coming down, as if heaven is crowning her. Hope does that for us.

Re-Stringing Pearls of Wisdom!
My son, hope is essential, it is that which brings faith to reality. Without hope, there is no light, no reason for living and no direction. You have the light. Walk in the light. It says that we are children of light in a perverse, wicked world and we must walk in that light. That is our hope, we have the light to see where we are going. The world doesn't, it is hopeless and it goes aimlessly about needing hope..

Hope will give you encouragement when nothing else will. Hope will take you to the threshold of the door, and faith will take you into the house.

Wear hope as an ornament of grace around your neck.

Words from Solomon which he learned from His Mother:
My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

For the Lord gives wisdom, From his mouth come knowledge and understanding, He stores up sound wisdom for the upright. Proverbs 2:1-7
