They Call Her Blessed!

Enjoy the e-gallery of Betty Slade and her paintings of the "Women of the Wind Series". This collection of paintings are the impressionist Southwest women seen through the eyes of Proverbs. Also there will be added southwest landscapes and adobes.

Dedicated to My Son Stephen,
A Leader of men, a server of tables, and full of the Holy Spirit. My charge to you is that you lead with wisdom, serve with kindness and walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Then you will complete your name, Stephenos, a crowning glory.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother -- for they will be an ornament of grace on your head, and chains about your neck.

Proverbs 1:8,9

Many of the Proverbs and Wisdom have been written in the female voice. This is wisdom that King Solomon acquired sitting at the feet of his mother. Her endearing name for him was King Lemuel, and the utterance which his mother taught him is found in the Proverbs thirty-one Woman.

Lemuel means devoted to God. So is this group of paintings with words from the King and defined in the heart of the artist, Betty Slade

He concludes his proverbs with the portrait of the Proverbs thirty-one Woman. He recognizes the attributes of a godly woman; her beauty can not be compared but excels beyond the many daughters who have done well, and her husband and her children will call her blessed.

Serenty

I, Wisdom, will teach your discretion and it will preserved you. It will keep you from the lips of the immoral woman which drips with honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is bitter as wormwood. Her way leads to death, her steps lay hold of hell. Refuse her when she comes to you. She comes in different clothing. You have hear of the Devil in the Blue Dress. She changes her dress to your taste. Learn from me and be well.

Gallery Tour: Wisdom is your guide as you wander through this body of watercolors. I always think of a Christmas tree when I see this, the way it  flairs out at the bottom with the red and green shawl. The design is in the shawl, the lines creates the wrap around feeling.

Re-Stringing Pearls!

My Son, Pay attention to the wisdom of the Proverbs, These will keep you from stumbling when the immoral woman with honey dripping from her lips calls to you. Her ways are unstable and will lead you to a life of shame and death. Run from her. She is very cunning, and she knows what you want to hear.

Wisdom calls out to you She will keep your feet from stumbling, trust her, she will lead you in the way you should go.

The immoral woman will call to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:16). Wisdom will preserve you.

Proverbs 5: 1,2,3,4,5,6 My Son, pay attention to my wisdom, lend your ear to my understanding, that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go own to death,  her steps lay hold of hell. lest you ponder her path of life Her ways are unstable; you do not know them. Therefore hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth.
