They Call Her Blessed!

Enjoy the e-gallery of Betty Slade and her paintings of the "Women of the Wind Series". This collection of paintings are the impressionist Southwest women seen through the eyes of Proverbs. Also there will be added southwest landscapes and adobes.

Dedicated to My Son Stephen,
A Leader of men, a server of tables, and full of the Holy Spirit. My charge to you is that you lead with wisdom, serve with kindness and walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Then you will complete your name, Stephenos, a crowning glory.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother -- for they will be an ornament of grace on your head, and chains about your neck.

Proverbs 1:8,9

Many of the Proverbs and Wisdom have been written in the female voice. This is wisdom that King Solomon acquired sitting at the feet of his mother. Her endearing name for him was King Lemuel, and the utterance which his mother taught him is found in the Proverbs thirty-one Woman.

Lemuel means devoted to God. So is this group of paintings with words from the King and defined in the heart of the artist, Betty Slade

He concludes his proverbs with the portrait of the Proverbs thirty-one Woman. He recognizes the attributes of a godly woman; her beauty can not be compared but excels beyond the many daughters who have done well, and her husband and her children will call her blessed.

The Sentinels stand Guard

I Wisdom, must warn you of the foolish woman. She will invite you to steal forbidden water and eat bread in secret. Yes, it is pleasant for the moment but it will lead to the depths of hell.

The Sentinels stand Guard

Gallery Tour Guide: This is from a series of Arizona sunsets and sunrises. The desert is alive, but groans in waiting for the sons of God to be revealed. The Saguaros become the tension line for this lazy, relaxing scene. They bring drama to a quiet desert.

Re-Stringing Pearls for my Son!
Not everything is the way it looks. You must look below the surface to see the spirit behind it. A foolish woman is clamorous, and she will call to those passing by. She will beckon you to turn in and will say to you, "Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." She is right for a moment, but then it will become woodworm. It will eat you alive. It will lead to death,

Run to Wisdom, do not listen to the foolish woman. In leading others, you must also learn, when deceit or poor decisions are calling you. Test the spirit behind it.

Words Solomon's Mother taught him: Proverbs 9:13-18 A foolish woman is clamorous; she is simple and knows nothing. For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat by the highest places of the city. To call to those who pass by, who go straight on their way; "whoever is simple, let him turn in here" as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, "Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of hell.
